Craigslist’s “Services” Category No Longer Free Posting

If you are a small business who offers a service you may have noticed that as of March, 20^th 2018, you can no longer post your services in the in the numerous sub-categories on craigslist.org.  In most markets across the US Craigslist is now charging $5 per post.

Many people in service trades used CraigsList because it has always been a free sources of marketing.  If you weren’t spending money on paid marketing somewhere else like SEO or Google Adwords, Craigslist was an adequate free source for marketing your services.

Now the question is, will service contractors pay the $5 per post that Craigslist is now asking?  That remains to be seen. The amounts of posts that people are paying for in most markets have seen a dramatic slide.

Plumbers, HVAC, Electricians, Mechanics, General Contractors and all other companies in the service trades who were using Craigslist as a primary source of generating new customers need to plan for the future without Craigslist as an option.
